Funding
Funding the Community Shed

Why We Need Funding

The Costessey & District Community Shed (CDCS) is powered by community spirit, volunteers, and the generosity of sponsors and donors. Funding is essential to help us:

  • Maintain and improve our workshop spaces
  • Purchase tools, materials, and safety equipment
  • Complete community projects for schools, charities, and local organisations
  • Provide a safe and welcoming environment for our members
  • Cover running costs like utilities and essential services

Your support ensures our Shed remains a vibrant community hub, where people of all backgrounds can learn, create, and connect.

Our Sponsors

We are deeply grateful to the local businesses and organisations who make our work possible. Special thanks to:

  • R G Carter – for donating internal fittings and covering the transport costs of our containers
  • Longwater Supplies – for providing vital materials and fencing for our site
  • Wensum DIY – for providing us with discounts for all our small project supplies and for their ongoing support to members with help and advice on their projects
  • Costessey Garden Care – assisting with improving access for the compound and base preparation for the shipping containers
  • South Norfolk’s Keep it Going Grant – for supporting transport and setup costs
  • Costessey Town Council – for support in the early days with posters, and materials to get the word out, and all the district councillors for their ongoing support

Their generosity has made a significant impact on our ability to create welcoming, well-equipped workshop spaces.

Funding Plans & Current Needs

We are working hard to raise additional funds to:

  • Acquire and equip another workshop container
  • Fund the conversion of both containers into versatile workshops and a social space
  • Purchase additional tools and machinery for woodworking and metalworking
  • Furnish our indoor and outdoor social areas

We have submitted several bids for grants and are exploring all possible funding avenues. Every contribution helps us get closer to our goal of transforming the Shed into a fully accessible and sustainable resource for the community.
